   I had muscle and joint pain, bacterial infections, sinus infections and allergies, and Lyme disease.  It was difficult to do every day thing such as taking a walk, going to gym and exercise, going dancing, and doing house work.  I felt terrible, tired and irritable.

   When I landed in Dr. Liebell's office I had been diagnosed with late stage Lyme - at least two years of infection.  The bulk of my escalating issues were digestive, joint and cognitive.  Lyme disease grossly limited my normal activities to the point where I researched my company's disability policy.  I truly thought I would no longer be able to function professionally.  Unable to move, unable to think, had a negative spiral effect on me…lowered self-esteem, depression, sadness, and isolation.

   I was scared to eat because I knew it would be painful.   I was unable to engage in simple daily activities like climbing stairs.  Getting up from a chair was often a struggle.  Getting on the treadmill was out of the question.  My knuckles hurt so bad that sometimes I couldn't sleep at night.  And my memory felt like it was melting away.  I would be mid-sentence and the words would vacate me.  Other times I was not able to control enunciation, and my spoken words would be garbled.  My medical path took me initially to my PA who referred me to several specialists, e.g., osteoarthritis doctors, psychiatrist, orthopedics, gastrointestinal, and lots of lab and x-ray visits.  I no longer was surprised with having 12 vials of blood drawn.

   There is no way for me to quantify my peace of mind.  I'm returning to my former self (ok, I'm a little older now).  But the ability to move, think, and ingest has returned, not to mention the ENERGY!  Wahoo!  I am now able to re-focus on personal, professional, and academic goals that I thought I was going to have to abandon.  It's like getting a new lease on life - that probably sounds hokey, but it's true!  I want you to picture a middle-aged woman doing cartwheels down the aisle…that's me!

   The first word that pops into my head is, "humane."  I have to drive several hours to reach Dr. Liebell's office.  On my first visit, I was greeted and settled in as though I was in their living room.  However, another patient in severe pain came in, and they immediately triaged her.  Even though I had to wait a little longer, it was comforting to know that the staff understands priorities, and easily assesses the urgency of the patient.  This clinic is people-centric.  Nice to know if I had an emergency, they would stop everything they are doing to attend to me.  Not only that, but they seem to enjoy getting to know their patients!   

   Regarding the ear acupuncture [Auricular Therapy], first of all, there is no pain.  Bio-energetic testing is non-evasive, painless, and expedient.  While lying down comfortably, Dr. Liebell compares my energy field's reaction to whatever element we want.  So, for instance, he may test for one of the heavy metals, such as mercury or aluminum.  Or he may test for parasites - viruses, bacteria, fungi, and so forth.  Or he may test the viability of systems/organs like adrenal glands. 

   The homeopathic treatment is administered sublingually, so that may be new to a patient.  For me, when my homeopathics arrived in the mail, I got them organized.  I marked the bottles/vials with the quantity to take with a big sharpie, and set them on a tray.  First thing in the morning, and last thing at night, I plop my three or ten drops into a plastic spoon, and slip it under my tongue.  My husband enjoys the following ten quiet minutes as I wait for my body to absorb the homeopathics.  For chronic Lyme sufferers, who don’t believe that any treatment other than antibiotics could be a solution: How badly do you want your life back???

   When I first came to Dr. Liebell I was having widespread pain due to a diagnosis of Fibromyalgia, so I was told.  I was having migraines, shoulder and neck pain, lower back pain, nerve pain, joint pain, digestive problems, tremors, anxiety, memory loss, problems concentrating and extreme fatigue.

   I was unable to have a normal life and take care of things that I needed to have done.  The winters were the worst; the cold would cause me severe pain and restrict almost all outside activity.  At times I felt helpless and prayed for relief from somewhere.  I couldn’t do housework, school work, and full time work—basically anything that required physical activity.    I have seen rheumatologists, primary care physicians and pain management doctors with no success.  As for treatments, I have been given every pain medication on the market.  They would give temporary relieve but with a host of side effects.

   [Regarding Auricular Therapy ear acupuncture]  I don't really feel it at all—maybe just a little tap behind the ear.  Nothing painful.  I was extremely fascinated by the bio-energetic testing.  Dr. Liebell was very thorough in explaining its use and how it works.  I was amazed at how he could pinpoint my symptoms & problems based on doing this testing.  The homeopathic treatment was a new experience for me, but easy to take.  Just a few drops and you’re done. Getting through the healing crisis was the only hard part.  It is not a fast working treatment as medication, but once it is in your system it works wonders.

   [For Lyme sufferers, who don’t believe that any treatment other than antibiotics could be a solution]  I would say..."what do you have to lose?  You've tried everything else now try the best!"  I made the decision one day that I was tired of all the medications and the many side effects.  I said to myself, "there has to be a better more natural way to treat this."    I had been diagnosed in CA with Lyme, Bartonella, and an alarming overgrowth of Candida.    The health problems I was having when I first came in were:  spacey/dizziness, left upper quadrant and rib pain, headaches, hot flashes and night sweats, liver dysfunction, gastrointestinal dysfunction, body or bony pain, irritability and sensitivity to light and noise, memory problems like dyslexia, forgetfulness, and word recall, and shakiness.    I could not do my job the right way.  I missed many days from work for the simple fact I could not get out of bed.  I am a runner and hiker and I could not do the activities I enjoyed so much.  Taking my beautiful dog on a walk around the neighborhood was taxing.  I had to watch everything I ate because I never knew what was going to make me sick.  I didn't eat at my own wedding because I was afraid I would get sick because of the gastro problems I was having.  We didn't' go out as much because I would feel so run down.

   On the way to my first visit with Dr Liebell, all I could think about was how many doctors I had been to and they were not able to help me why should he be any different.  I was very impressed with how friendly the office staff was and even more so with Dr Liebell.  He actually listened to my symptoms something I wasn’t used to.  I had actually had doctors tell me they had no idea what I had and insinuated that I was crazy or just lazy.

   When I came to Dr Liebell I was experiencing debilitating headaches, vertigo, stomach paralysis, chronic fatigue, neck pain depression and anxiety from Lyme disease.  I felt sick all the time and did not want to do or participate in anything.  I had no strength to do anything and I had such bad anxiety and depression I could not function normally.  I had been to family practitioners, gastric, liver, infectious disease, neurologists, endocrinologists, oncologists, cardiologists, sleep doctors and psychologists who prescribed numerous antibiotics, narcotics for pain, anti-fungal and anti-viral medicines as well as anti-depressants.

   When I first came to Dr. Liebell it was to discuss my lower back pain. Little did I know, he was going to be able to lessen my joint pain, Piriformis syndrome, hip bursitis, fatigue, and depression, as well as heal my headaches, neck, and lower back pain. 

   I had no life before Dr. Liebell. School took every last bit of energy I had, when I came home I crashed. My lower back pain was so excruciating that I was on pain killers and very strong muscle relaxers, and still felt pain every day.    I went through the three month treatment to keep my atlas bone in place in my neck. That relieved my joint pain and neck pain but I was still experiencing the horrible back pain. That was when Dr. Liebell told me to get tested for Lyme disease. I started treatment for the Lyme disease and immediately I started feeling more energy. After a month of treatment my lower back pain started to decrease. By 2 months of treatment I was full of life and taking one Alieve to sleep at night.

   Dr. Liebell gave me back my life. When people see me now they are astonished that a homeopathic treatment had such a strong and positive effect on my life. I can exercise whenever I want and after work I actually have the energy to clean the house or spend time with friends. I was finally smiling because I was genuinely happy!

   Antibiotics may work, and you may have to have several rounds of treatments as well. They are devastating to the body and clear out all of your good bacteria. Why would you choose that when you could take a treatment that makes you feel better while you take it? There is no negative to the homeopathy, plus the treatments are easier to take then the antibiotic therapy (where in some cases you have to walk around with an IV drip for days or weeks.)
